Mummy Portrait of a Man
This portrait would once have been placed on top of the mummy of the man it portrays and the linen wrappings would've been arranged so that the portrait was still visible. It dates to the Roman Period, around 120 CE so "only" 1900 years old.

It's not known for sure where it was found other than that it's Egyptian, but it may well have come from the Faiyum region of Egypt as most examples of this type of mummy portrait were found there.

I find these portraits hauntingly beautiful. They are much more realistic in style than previous Egyptian art, and solemnity of the faces combined with the direct gaze makes them hard to look away from.
