Funnel Shaped Lid for a Pottery Vessel
OK I confess - I took a photo of this because it looks a bit like a traffic cone or a witch's hat for a particularly colourful witch. It's actually a pottery lid found at Esna and dating to the 17th Dynasty around 3500 years ago.

The museum website gives a couple of speculations about what it might've been used to cap. It might be for a pottery vessel and the painted bands might identify the contents (rather than just look pretty). Or it might be to cap an incense brazier, presumably like a candle snuffer.
