Frog Shaped Stone Jar
This an ancient stone vessel that I saw at the Garstang Museum's Before Egypt exhibition – it dates to the Naqada II period and it was part of their section on how the environment of the Nile shows up in Predynastic Egyptian artifacts.

It caught my eye because it's a frog, and it's really quite expressive – this is a frog with personality. The stone is also rather eye-catching and if the eyes still had their original inlays I imagine that would've been quite striking too.

I've talked about Egyptian ideas about frogs on the blog before: https://talesfromthetwolands.org/2019/12/21/hundreds-of-thousands/
