Clay Head from Merimde Beni Salama
There is a hole underneath it which looks like it was to be mounted on a pole. As well the eyes, nose & mouth there are small holes in which it's thought feathers were placed to give the head hair and a beard.

This is the earliest known depiction of a human head from Egypt.

From Merimde Beni Salama.

Predynastic Period, Ma'adi Period, 4th Millennium BCE.
